1. Our two-color MCs are made from cast vinyl (the best vinyl you can buy). They will be easier to install and will last longer than the calendared vinyl used by most other providers.
2. Our digitally-printed numbers are printed on vehicle wrap grade vinyl (again, the best you can buy) and then laminated with a UV-blocking film to resist fading.
3. Our MCs are specifically designed to complement each boat brand. Fonts and colors are carefully matched to give the MCs an “installed at the factory” look.
4. Mach One has decades of experience with vinyl lettering. We know what works, and what doesn’t. Our materials and designs are optimized for straightforward installation and lasting durability.
5. Mach One has been SkipperBud’s trusted exclusive graphics provider for over 10 years. We work closely together to ensure the entire boat purchase experience is seamless and complete.

• Because your MCs are a legal requirement, readability is the key factor. The most important aspect of readability is the contrast between the outline of the letter and the boat hull. Dark outlines work best against a light hull, and vice versa.
• From a design point of view, we try not to add any new colors to the boat. For example, if your boat is black with a white stripe and silver pontoons, choose a letter design with black/white, black/silver, or white/silver – whichever looks best against your hull.

• Your MC number will be listed on your Watercraft Registration, which is issued by your state. You will typically receive the registration by mail within a few weeks of closing on your purchase of the boat.

In Michigan, your MCs must be on the forward half of the hull, as high as practical.

We have installed hundreds of MCs and are meticulous with every installation. We promise they will be applied straight, in the correct spot, and will not peel, crack, or fade for at least 3 years*. 

This does not include abuse or other “accidental” damage from power washers, aggressive polishing, spilled gasoline, rubbing against a dock, or mechanical damage from collisions with other objects.

*We use vinyl designed to last 8-10 years outdoors – year round – so if you take care of your boat and it is covered or stored indoors during the winter, your MCs should easily last the lifetime of the boat.

• Your graphics are made from premium quality vinyl – no special sealers, waxes, or treatments are necessary. 
• Avoid using a power washer next to the graphics. 
• Avoid power buffing over your graphics. 
• Be careful when hand cleaning, scrubbing, or polishing next to the graphics. 
• Do not use any solvent-based cleaners near the graphics.

We retain our design files for at least 3 years and can provide individual replacement letters, sections, or sides of your design. Contact Us

 No. The adhesive is permanent, so you will need a new set. If you just need one side, or one section, Contact Us and we’ll help you out.
